Former Juventus and Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro was recently asked to share his thoughts on the main contenders in the new Serie A season. The Ballon D’Or winner paid special mention to Roma’s transfer window.
“Roma can compete for the Scudetto,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “The club made intelligent moves in line with Mourinho’s requests and ideas.”
“The Portuguese manager has asked for reinforcements in order to aspire to win as soon as possible, and the club delivered by signing quality players with a certain level of experience,” he added.
“We saw how the entire city of Rome lit up for players like Dybala and Wijnaldum. That is the right kind of enthusiasm that enables you to build the foundation to win.”
