Fabio Capello discusses Roma’s early season struggles

Former Roma manager Fabio Capello analyzed the Giallorossi’s rough start to the new season.

In an interview with Radio Anchio Sport, the Italian technician emphasized Nemanja Matic’s departure as a major problem for Mourinho and his men.

“It’s surprising that Roma concede so many goals, this also depends on a player who is no longer with us, Matic, who had a great vision of what was going on, and always positioned himself in the right place,” said Capello.

“In my opinion, this is one of the points that needs to be fixed, up front without Dybala’s imagination it’s a team that doesn’t have a lot of quality.”

“But Roma need to find their midfield stability again. Mourinho never gives up and won’t give up this time, he knows what he is saying and where he wants to go, indeed at a certain age there is even more desire and anger to prove that he is not ‘old’.”

“Lukaku like Batistuta? Batistuta was a whole different animal, Lukaku protects the ball when he receives the ball and helps the team move up the pitch, he has good speed on the counterattack. It will be important when Dybala is around, but there is no comparison with Batistuta.”
