Former Roma manager Fabio Capello made a special mention for Roma’s signing of Nemanja Matić as one of the key players in Jose Mourinho’s side.
Capello related his thoughts about Matić and Roma’s ambitions for the new season in an interview with Il Mattino.
“This will be a fun year,” said the Italian technician. “It seems to me that Serie A has become very balanced, similarly to last year.”
“I think Roma are right there with the rest of the top teams, especially considering their intelligent signings in this window.”
“Everybody likes Paulo Dybala but the real big signing is Nemanja Matić. He’s the real deal,” he added. “Very few players can impose themselves in the middle of the pitch like Matić can.”
“Sure, Roma now cannot hide in terms of ambition. But I don’t think they want to anyway given all the excitement surrounding the team.”
