Former Roma manager Fabio Capello backed Jose Mourinho in a recent interview with calciosaudita.it.
The Italian technician was asked about Mourinho’s uncertain future as his tenure at Roma enters its third year.
“I always follow Roma with great affection and Mourinho is a great coach,” said Capello. “He has a lot of experience and this is important. In Rome he is doing very well, he is a driving force and the fans follow him no matter what.”
“And then he won a Conference League, and lifting international trophies is always difficult. There’s no point in criticizing him, results count in life and José is someone who knows how to get them. Others philosophize, he wins. And I say this – it’s better to win.”
