Former Roma manager Fabio Capello discussed the Giallorossi’s chances of advancing to the next round of the Europa League as they prepare to face Brighton on Thursday night.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Capello mentioned Roma in Serie A’s Champions League race as well as their current Europa League campaign.

“Roma seemed tired to me against Fiorentina, they suffered a lot in terms of dynamism and Lukaku was almost invisible.”

“However, it should not be forgotten that when De Rossi arrived, the team seemed out of contention for the Champions League and instead today it is fully in the race,” said Capello who managed Roma during their last Scudetto win in 2001.

“Let’s not take the match against Brighton for granted,” he continued. “If the Roma seen in Florence were to take the field in Brighton, we’d have plenty of unpleasant surprises. In England if you’re not at the top they attack you from all sides, as if you were hit by an avalanche.”
