Roma defender Federico Fazio appeared on Roma Radio this afternoon to speak about the Giallorossi’s 1-0 victory over Genoa, here are his words:
Yesterday was a beautiful match for Roma.
It was a difficult pitch, the ground was bad. It was a match we had to win and the three points were very important for the league. Yesterday when we needed to make plays and be warriors we did so. It is very important to show that we are all together when we are on the pitch.
Was Roma less beautiful but more solid? You’re one of the drivers of this change?
The Mister insists on being us being more nasty all together, we have to show attitude over rivals such as Genoa like we did yesterday on a pitch where many good teams have lost. Yesterday showed the way we have to play and fight, we have to continue like this.
What were your thoughts on Szczesny’s save at the end?
He was very good, there were two minutes in the match and he did well. It would have been a shame for them to equalize but luckily he was there and he made that great save. Even this has demonstrated that we were all gunning for the 3 points. We all wanted the win and it showed.
