Upon his return to the Italian capital from Roma’s Portugal preseason training camp, Felix Afena-Gyan was interviewed by TeleRoma 56 and asked about his progress at the club and his relationship with manager José Mourinho.

“When I first arrived in Italy I didn’t experience any difficulties in settling in,” said the Ghanaian attacker.

“Everybody helped out and it was a nice challenge without too many problems getting in the way.”

When asked about potentially facing reduced playing time due to Roma’s attacking output, Felix did not sound discouraged at all. “I’m still young, I still have many years of football ahead of me, I still have a lot to learn, especially from the coach.”

“If I don’t play, it’s not a big deal. I’m sure my time will come and I’ll have to take that opportunity.”

“Mourinho is like a father to me,” he added. “And you must always listen to your parents.”

On getting the chance to play with Paulo Dybala, Felix said, “It’s a great pleasure for me to share the locker room with a great player like Dybala, it’s a pleasure to be able to talk and be able to train with him.”
