Felix wants more playing time: Sassuolo and Lecce remain interested

Felix Afena-Gyan wants to be ready for Qatar 2022 with the Ghanaian national team, and is thus pushing for more playing time next season.

The 19-year-old has in fact drawn considerable attention from several Serie A sides, reports Corriere dello Sport.

Initially, Salernitana were targeting the player, with ex-Roma director Morgan De Sanctis – currently working for the Granata – personally involved in bringing the youngster to Salerno.

However, Salernitana’s president, Antonio Iervolino, vetoed the move and insists on finding more experienced players.

On the other hand, Lecce and Sassuolo are both very interested in the ex-Primavera attacker.

The Neroverdi are particularly interested in including Felix in the deal for Roma target Davide Frattesi.
