Once again, Roma meet Feyenoord for the third consecutive time in the last three years.
The two clubs will face each other in February as part of the Europa League knockout round following today’s draw in Nyon.
After facing Roma in the Conference League final in 2022, as well as last season’s Europa League quarterfinals, Feyenoord captain Gernot Trauner did not sound too happy with the third meeting occurring early next year.
“It seems like a bit of a joke,” Trauner told RIJNMOND.NL.
“We went to Rome several times not only to play against Roma, but also for Roma. All in all, this will be the fourth time,” he said, alluding to Feyenoord’s match-up with Lazio in the Champions League group-stage.
“We probably would have preferred to play somebody else, it seems like we’re obsessed with going to Rome. But it will be a good challenge for us and this time we want to beat them.”
