As Feyenoord prepare to step on the pitch at the Stadio Olimpico later tonight to face Lazio in the Europa League, midfielder Orkun Kocku recalled meeting Roma in the Conference League final and how that experienced help the Dutch side move forward into this new campaign.
“Being able to play a European final was fantastic,” said the Turkish international in his pre-match presser. “It’s true: once it was over we were deeply disappointed but also satisfied because this year we get to do more and aim higher.”
“The final gave us a lot of confidence. Facing many big teams in Europe helped us grow as a team. Lazio are different compared to the Roma team we faced last season.”
