Filippo Tripi bids Roma farewell after Mura switch

Andy Mattioli

Filippo Tripi recently completed a permanent move to Slovenian side Mura from Roma.

The Italian defender dedicated a lengthy post on Instagram to his boyhood club.

“I first joined this club at 8 years of age when I was just a kid and I’m leaving now that I’ve become an adult.”

“After twelve years, two of which I was captain of the Primavera and managed to achieve the dream of joining the first team, the time has come to say goodbye.”

“I wanted to thank Roma and all those who have been part of my career in the club for helping me grow from all points of view, but above all from a human point of view. I want to thank the coach for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to get involved in the team I have always loved and supported.”

“I want to mention all my teammates who have played with me over the years, each in their own way has given me something that I will never forget and will always carry in my heart.”

“I thank every day that I was born a Roma fan and that I had the good fortune and privilege of wearing this shirt and feeling its weight as if it were tattooed on my skin. Thanks for everything, Roma. You have been, are and always will be my home. It will never be goodbye.”
