Former Roma Primavera defender Filippo Tripi recently joined Slovenian side Mura on a permanent deal.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Tripi described his transfer as well as the decision behind it. Moreover, the youngster revealed Mourinho’s advice and more.
“Mura represented the most inspiring opportunity. I had other proposals, but I preferred to try this adventure, with a coach who is ready to rely on me.”
“Too bad I didn’t get to make my debut in Serie A, it was my dream, but maybe it will happen later in my career. Now I want to enjoy this next step, knowing that [General Manager] Tiago Pinto will continue to monitor me.”
“Mourinho wished me luck and a great career ahead of me. I learned a lot from him, just as I learned a lot from my most experienced teammates: working with Pellegrini, Smalling, Matic and Dybala gave me plenty of food for thought and taught me a lot.”
