Andrea Belotti’s loan spell at Fiorentina is proving more difficult than expected.

The striker has failed to make an impact in Florence after signing on until the end of the season following 1.5 years at Roma.

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano expressed his disappointment in the ex-Torino man during yesterday’s press conference.

When asked about Fiorentina’s goal-scoring struggles, Italiano admitted, “We all expected a few more goals from him, we have to be honest.”

“Belotti works very hard for the team: he runs a lot even when we don’t have possession, he is useful for winning the ball back. On Monday they disallowed a goal by millimeters and he also encountered several goalkeepers capable of miracles.”

“We still have important games ahead of us and those who give their soul in this way must be repaid.”

“I am convinced that Andrea will find the opportunity to score the ball soon. Monday’s substitution must not weigh him down and I hope he can have the opportunity to score tomorrow. The way he works, it’s not right not to see him celebrate, but I’m convinced that he’s getting close. He shows great attachment to a shirt that he has been wearing for a few months.”
