Fiorentina executive Daniele Prade confirmed his side’s interest in Mats Hummels prior to the German’s decision to sign with Roma.
During a recent press conference, Daniele Pradé, sporting director of Fiorentina, revealed some background information on the summer transfer window, which ended at the end of August.
Among the topics touched upon was the failure of Mats Hummels to arrive at Fiorentina, a transfer that seemed possible but which in the end did not materialize.
Pradé confirmed that Fiorentina had considered the option of buying Hummels.
“I thought about it, but he wanted to wait. He wasn’t ready to make decisions, the same thing happened to him with Bologna and other clubs. He had done it with Real Sociedad and then thought better of it…”.
