Fiorentina eyeing De Rossi as manager

Despite having been retired as a player for less than six months, Daniele De Rossi is already garnering interest as a manager.

Sky Sport reports that Fiorentina are considering appointing the former Giallorossi man as their manager for next season.

The 36 year-old retired in January following a brief spell with Argentine side Boca Juniors. Since then, he has been studying and preparing to take on his first role as a manager and following in the footsteps of his father, Alberto De Rossi, the manager of AS Roma’s Primavera side.

La Viola have been struggling recently with their form under Beppe Iachini, who replaced Vincenzo Montella earlier this season.

Fiorentina were extremely interested in singing De Rossi once his contract with Roma expired at the end of the 2018/2019 season, however, he preferred to go abroad with Boca Juniors.

Given president Rocco Commisso’s affinity for the Roman, it would be no surprise that he would be willing to hand him his first managerial experience.
