Fiorentina have come forward for Roma centreback Chris Smalling.
The Englishman continues to be linked with an exit from the capital club as Roma look to rid themselves of heavy wages.
At the moment, Smalling appears to be next in line on Roma’s transfer list.
In the meantime, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Fiorentina have added Smalling to their own summer shortlist given their need for a veteran defender for Raffaele Palladino.
Roma do not have high demands but the defender’s salary could be an obstacle since he earns 3.8 million euros per season.
