Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano was not happy with his side going down to ten men in the first half of tonight’s Roma showdown at the Stadio Olimpico.
After the game, the Italian technician pointed to a “rushed” decision by the match official.
“Tonight we leave this stadium with regret, especially for all the people who came to watch the match. Had it been 11 vs 11, we could have played well and it would have been a spectacular match.”
“I have to compliment the boys despite the inferiority, playing like this against this team and in this stadium is impressive,” he told DAZN after the final whistle.
“I’m not sure if the red card was unfair, but it was certainly a rushed decision on the referee’s part. We will try to avoid making such mistakes in the future. When you lose a man against a team like Roma, it becomes very difficult.”
