Preparations are well underway for a busy summer for Roma whose sporting area will be supervised by new Technical Director Florent Ghisolfi.

The French executive was officially welcomed by the capital club on Wednesday.

Roma and Ghisolfi agreed on a three-year term during which the 39-year-old director will have the chance to help the Giallorossi rebuild their roster and make the club’s transfer operations more sustainable and in-line with the needs of Daniele De Rossi who’s also set to remain at Roma for the next three years.

According to Corriere della Sera, Ghisolfi – like in his experiences as sporting director of Lens and Nice where he discovered the likes of Fofana, Openda and Danso – will rely heavily on scouting; so much so that he is said to have already begun the set-up for a new scouting network at Roma.

Ghisolfi will bring in a couple of close collaborators who will help him in identifying young talents and monitor closely the development of Roma’s Youth team.
