Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi took the stage a few minutes prior to Claudio Ranieri’s first press conference.
The French executive addressed the media, welcoming back Claudio Ranieri and addressing the significance of his appointment.
“There is no need to introduce mister Ranieri, right now Roma needs to return to its roots,” said Ghisolfi.
“The coach knows the teams and the clubs, as well as being a great coach, we thought he was the right person for this project.”
“Also on behalf of the Friedkin family on this important day I say that Roma needs experience and to return to its roots, hence the choice of mister Ranieri, the right person for this project.”
“We came to this decision together,” he added. “It seemed like the best decision we could make.”
