IlMessaggero.it: Roma manager Luciano Spalletti’s wait for the rest of his team will be over on Thursday when the national team players return to Trigoria.
The technician is eager to have his full team available in order to carry out training and try and dispel the negativity and bitterness that still looms from the meltdown against Cagliari. With the absences of Mario Rui, Antonio Rüdiger, and Daniele De Rossi, Spalletti will make adjustments for the encounter with Samp. In the midfield, assuming the Tuscan resumes his usual hybrid 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 formation, Paredes will continue to occupy the regista role next to Strootman. Meanwhile, Nainggolan will continue in a more advanced position with Salah and Perotti on the wings and Dzeko as the prima punta.
One interesting note is the role of Alessandro Florenzi, who is unlikely to find space given the return of Juan Jesus at left-back and Bruno Peres occupying the right. Florenzi’s future role could be returning to an old one: in attack. Florenzi, as admitted by Spalletti, is likely to occupy a role on the wing and could be one of the first names off of the bench.
Tomorrow will be an off day for Roma while on Thursday there will be a double session: a decisive day for Spalletti to make a decision ahead of the weekend’s match against Sampdoria.
