Florenzi likely to refuse secondary role at Roma, will not be joining team for preseason

Despite earlier in the week we heard of a possible return to Roma for Alessandro Florenzi, after his one-year loan spell at PSG, the Italian international does not intend to hang around the capital for too long.

According to today’s edition of Il Tempo, Eldor Shmorudov, for whom Roma completed a deal last night with the player expected to undergo his medical on Monday morning, is likely to join the team in preseason along with Bryan Cristante.

Meanwhile, Florenzi, as reported by the Italian newspaper, will not be on that flight as he will remain in Italy. The player and his agent are intent on finding a new destination where the 30-year-old can play starter minutes.

After his spells at Valencia and PSG, the Italian right-back is not likely to accept a secondary role behind Rick Karsdorp at Roma.

One of the rumored destinations for Florenzi has been Inter, a club with whom Florenzi’s agent, Lucci, is on good terms with.
