Florenzi linked with Atalanta as permanent PSG move grows unlikely

RomaPress Staff

After spending the past season at the club on loan, PSG appear increasingly unlikely to keep hold of Alessandro Florenzi.

The French giants have until the end of the month to exercise a buying option to make the Italian’s loan move permanent. However, according to Il Romanista, Florenzi will likely be sent back to the Italian capital as PSG appear unwilling to use the option.

With a return to France ruled out, the defender is considering other available options, including opportunities in Serie A.

One Italian club that has already registered interest in Florenzi is Atalanta. The Bergamo-based side like the Italian international and their recent Champions League qualification could help lure him to the club.

Although, Atalanta would prefer to complete the operation via swap deal, as they’re fully aware of Roma’s interest in 26 year-old goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

Despite the proposed swap making sense for both clubs, one major obstacle exists: Atalanta is requesting that Roma also add €6-€8 million in cash.
