Roma’s number one candidate for the midfield is Florian Grillitsch of German side Hoffenheim.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the powerful Austrian midfielder is the first signing Roma want to complete in the January transfer window.
Hoffenheim tried to renew Grillitsch’s expiring contract, but the Austrian international seems intent on moving elsewhere.
The Giallorossi are reportedly his preferred destination, with Grillitsch being a step away from joining Jose Mourinho’s side.
