Roma are reportedly closing in on their new sporting director.

In light of Tiago Pinto’s recent departure from his post as club General Manager, Roma want to announce within the next few weeks Pinto’s replacement.

According to today’s edition of Il Messaggero, over recent days Rennes executive Florian Maurice has become the leading candidate for the job.

In an interview with footmercato, the French sporting director hinted at the possibility of parting ways with Rennes at the end of the season.

Roma are keen on Maurice as they consider him a suitable fit for the Friedkins’ new long-term project which will be focused on the scouting and acquisition of younger talents.
