Roma boss Paulo Fonseca spoke to Roma TV after his side drew 2-2 against Cagliari in Sardinia in their final friendly before the start of their 2020/2021 campaign.

The Giallorossi came back from an 0-2 deficit and managed to draw level in the second half against the Isolani.

“I liked what we did in attack in the first half,” admitted Fonseca.

“We didn’t score but we did well, but we ended up making a mistake. Even defensively we did well, Cagliari didn’t create much. In the second half, though, I saw a strong reaction and positive signs”.

“Today was the first time we had almost everyone available and I saw good things. The team is not definitive, we played with players who will leave while there are others who still must arrive. I spoke with the president and with (Roma CEO) Fienga, we are working to improve the team”.

“Friedkin’s impact has been positive. It’s important to have the president close to the team, to see how we work. They’re just as motivated as we are and they’re working to improve Roma”.
