Roma manager Paulo Fonseca spoke at his pre-match press conference today as his side prepares to travel to Napoli to face the Partenopei tomorrow.
The sides will face-off on the heels of the passing of Napoli legend Diego Maradona, who was laid to rest yesterday in Argentina.
“I expect a difficult match tomorrow, Napoli are one of strongest teams in Italy, in my opinion,” stated Fonseca. “They’re a courageous side.”
“Every match in Serie A is difficult, tomorrow won’t be any different. We have been playing with confidence, though. It’s normal that when you win that you gain confidence. We have improved a lot.”
The Portuguese tactician then addressed the emergency situation in defence as the Giallorossi were without five central defenders during their midweek Europa League tie against Cluj as Chris Smalling, Marash Kumbulla, Roger Ibañez, Federico Fazio, and Gianluca Mancini were all out.
“Mancini and Ibañez all trained today and have a very good chance at playing tomorrow. Dzeko will play tomorrow and Pellegrini is ready, too.”
