RomaPress – Manager Paulo Fonseca is destined to leave Roma when his contract with the club expires next month. The Giallorossi’s collapse in the second half of the season will cost the Portuguese technician his job and he will not be offered a contract renewal.

However, it’s becoming a real possibility that Roma could sack him before the end of the campaign despite only four league matches remaining.

Roma’s owners, Dan and Ryan Friedkin, along with General Director Tiago Pinto, met at the club’s training facility just before lunch-time with Fonseca and his agent, Marco Abreu, for nearly an hour.

The Friedkin’s are furious with the team’s recent results and also didn’t appreciate Fonseca’s post match comments following yesterday’s 2-0 defeat to Samp.

The 48 year-old suggested that the team was never good enough to finish top four when he was asked about the quality within his Roma side.

“You guys at Sky Sport predicted that we would finish seventh before the season started. To me, that seems like a clear sign,” he remarked.

The comments were not well-received by the club’s upper management, who are now seriously debating the idea of sacking him.
