Fonseca determined to keep Veretout despite Napoli interest

Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout was one of the most fundamental players for manager Paulo Fonseca last season and the Portuguese trainer is determined to keep hold of the Frenchman despite strong interest from Napoli.

Il Tempo reports that Napoli asked for Veretout to be inserted into a potential swap deal, which would also include the Partenopei’s Arkadiusz Milik — but for anything less than a €40 million valuation, the Giallorossi management team are prepared to appease Fonseca and keep the player.

Roma continue to work on finding an agreement for Milik before giving Edin Dzeko the “OK” to join Andrea Pirlo and Juventus.
