Roma manager Paulo Fonseca was all smiles as his team delivered him a victory in his final Derby match in charge of the club.
The Portuguese tactician will oversee his final match as Roma boss against Spezia before compatriot José Mourinho takes over on 1 July.
“I’m obviously satisfied that we won, it’s my first Derby win,” he said to DAZN.
“We didn’t have much time to prepare for this one, but we did well. We changed formation after the Manchester game and we look very improved, especially with Darboe joining.”
He continued, “He’s a young player and the team has grown along with him. I have to pay homage to him, he’s a fantastic lad.”
“The team feels more secure when we have extra bodies in midfield. We stayed compact and kept our focus. Our position in the table is what it is, today was about winning for the supporters.”
