Roma boss Paulo Fonseca was elated with his team’s attitude in their 3-1 victory and elimination of Braga this evening.
The Giallorossi hammered their Portuguese counterpart by an aggregate scoreline of 5-1 in their Europa League Round of 32 tie.
“We had a good game, it was important to win. Our attitude is what has kept us afloat during this injury crisis, I very much enjoy seeing the players make such incredible sacrifices,” he said to Sky Sport.
The win gives Roma a much needed confidence boost ahead of Sunday’s showdown against Milan.
The Rossoneri visit the Italian capital in a game that is critically important for Fonseca’s men, who have yet to register a win against a club in the top eight this season.
“Just like the other games, Sunday’s is crucial. They are a great team, who are doing well,” explained Fonseca.
“Now what’s important is getting healthy and preparing players for this game.”
Roma will learn who their next opponent will be in the Europa League’s Round of 16 tomorrow afternoon.
