Roma boss Paulo Fonseca was satisfied with his team after their 3-2 win this evening against Cagliari in the Italian capital.

The Giallorossi got back to winning ways following their loss on Sunday as they handed their former manager and current Cagliari boss, Eusebio Di Francesco, another defeat.

“It was important to win tonight so I’m satisfied,” he said to DAZN. “It wasn’t an easy game and proves that we have to fight until the end for three points.”

The victory carried the Giallorossi to third in the Serie A table after both Juve and Napoli both dropped points.

“The first part of the season has been positive, perhaps at this moment third place was not possible in the minds of many people, but the team has always believed even after difficult moments like with Napoli and Atalanta. Today we showed that the team is balanced and we gave an excellent response.”

“Now we can think about the transfer market because we have a lot of games remaining when we return. It will be important to reflect and choose well.”
