RomaPress – Paulo Fonseca will officially become the new AS Roma manager next week when he arrives in London to meet with Pallotta and sign his contract with the Giallorossi. With their new manager in hand, the Portuguese boss has already expressed his “wish list” for the transfer market, and one of the names he suggested is a familiar one: 29 year-old left back Ismaily. It’s true that Fonseca requested that Roma try and bring the Brazilian to the Italian capital, but it will be a very difficult operation to carry out.

Ismaily signed a new contract with Shakhtar in June 2018, which ties to the Ukrainian side until 2023. Present in the contract is also a €100 million buyout clause, making it extremely difficult for the player to arrive at a heavily discounted rate. Furthermore, super-agent Kia Joorabchian oversees Ismaily’s interests and could look to take the player to a team competing in the Champions League should be decide to take on a new adventure. Combine these factors with Roma’s financial issues, and it makes the odds of the Giallorossi being able to bring Ismaily to the club extremely difficult. However, Roma will certainly make an attempt in order to please their new manager.
