Roma boss Paulo Fonseca appeared on Roma TV this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s Coppa Italia clash against Parma. Here’s what he had to say:

Tomorrow the match against Parma.
We haven’t won in our last two matches but we’ve played well. When this is the case, we must look to the future with optimism and positivity. The Coppa Italia is a competition that we’ll play with great ambition. Tomorrow is a very important game for us.

So it is a competition that Roma cares a lot about this season?
Yes, this competition is not easy. Now we have to play against a very strong teams. Without doubt, we’re playing to win.

Do you expect the same Parma who has already beaten Roma in the league?
Yes. It is a very strong team. For me, they’re one of the strongest teams on the counterattack, with very strong players in attack. They’re physical and difficult to play against. The players want to win tomorrow.

Dzeko won’t be there. Is Kalinić ready to start?
Yes, Kalinić will play. The other solution would have been Zaniolo but he won’t be there. Kalinić has trained well and I’m confident in him.

Cristante returned. Are Kluivert and Santon ready?
Yes. Cristante is ready, he started training with us a week ago, Kluivert started only this week but they are ready to play. Santon is also ready.
