Former Genoa director Giorgio Perinetti: “Last year, Monchi asked me if I was interested in taking Zaniolo on loan”.

Former Genoa general director Giorgio Perinetti spoke today to Teleradiosetereo and revelaed that season he was contacted last season by former Roma sporting director Ramon Monchi to see if the Rossoblu would be interested in taking Nicolo Zaniolo on loan. These are his words:

“We and Inter did business last year – including the deal for Radu. We were also eyeing Zaniolo but the Nerazzurri told us that they were engaged in talks with Roma for him. On the last day of the transfer window, Balzaretti called and told me that Monchi wanted to speak to me. Monchi wanted to see if I was interested in taking Zaniolo on loan”.
