Former Roma, Leicester City, and Sampdoria manager Claudio Ranieri is reportedly a candidate to become the next manager of Serie B side Cagliari.
Just moments ago, the Sardinian side announced the sacking of Fabio Liverani following Sunday’s defeat to Palermo which dropped them down to 14th in the table.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini wants to appoint an experienced manager as Liverani’s replacement, with Ranieri, Davide Ballardini, and Beppe Iachini at the top of his wishlist.
The 71 year-old, who already managed Cagliari early in his career from 1988 thru 1991, is on the lookout for new opportunities after a four-month stint with Watford ended last January.
