Legendary Italian coach Carlo Mazzone has passed away.

The Italian technician was 86 years old.

One of the most beloved figures of Serie A, Mazzone coached several Italian clubs in his career including Roma, Brescia and Cagliari.

Between 1993 and 1996, Mazzone worked at Roma where he is most remembered for launching the career of club legend Francesco Totti.

Totti – who at that time was only 17 years old – was incorporated by Mazzone with the first team and soon became a steady presence in Roma’s starting line up.
