Former Roma and current Bologna executive Walter Sabatini praised his former employer for their appointment of Jose Mourinho.
Sabatini, who spent five years at the club, commented that the arrival of “The Special One” was just what the Roman environment needed after a difficult season.
“Mourinho’s arrival at a place like Roma is very important,” he said to Sky Sport.
“Emotionally, this could be shakeup that the club needed. Roma’s new owners opted to stay silent since arriving and only spoke through their decisions. So far, I’ve seen only good things from them.”
He continued, “However, Roma is a very particular place, but there’s no doubting that it’s a brilliant coup. Mourinho is a name that will united everyone, there’s not a single Roma supporter who is disappointed right now.”
“Mourinho has won a lot and Roma needs to win, so who can create a spark of hope better than him? Hopefully he can turn these hopes and dreams into a reality.”
