Former Roma goal-keeper Michael Konsel – who played for the Giallorossi between 1997 and 1999 – shared his thoughts on Mile Svilar’s recent appearances in the team’s starting eleven.

In an interview with Teleradiostereo, Konsel said, “I saw courage from Svilar. It seems like a good decision by Daniele De Rossi; things needed to change in goal.”

“Does Svilar resemble me? Perhaps, I had a great defense in front of me. Even Cafu and Candela, although they would never track back. We had the potential to win more than we actually did.”

“I know the Salzburg model well but it takes years to create such a structure. Also to set up such scouting. I only spent two years at Roma, but the fans love me. It’s an honor for me, I had a great time in the capital. I miss that affection, I will always be your Panther
