Former Roma midfielder and Brazilian international Paulo Roberto Falcão backed José Mourinho to succeed in the Italian capital despite the early struggles so far this season.
The Giallorossi currently sit eighth in the Serie A table following a summer full of expectations after their appointment of the ‘Special One’.
However, the team has struggled in the first half of the campaign, limping to a record of 8 wins, 1 draw, and 7 losses through their first sixteen matches.
Even though it’s been an underwhelming campaign thus far, Falcão urged patience.
“Mourinho needs to be given time to work,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He only just arrived and he can’t be expected to start winning things right away. I saw the match against Inter and, unfortunately, it’s true that we didn’t play well.”
He added, “But I always support Roma, which is why I just said ‘we’. I always feel like I’m part of the club.”
