Marseille midfielder and former Roma man Gerson is closing in on a return to Brazilian side Flamengo.
L’Equipe reports the two clubs are engaged in negotiations for the player and are nearing an agreement regarding a permanent transfer for the 25 year-old.
With only 6 league starts under his belt, Gerson’s role within the team has been dramatically reduced this season under new manager Igor Tudor.
He wasn’t called-up for Thursday’s win against Toulouse as the clubs close in on a total agreement for his return.
His first stint with the club was from 2019 thru 2021 when he was sold by the Giallorossi for €11.8 million plus 10% of the profit earned by Flamengo.
