Former Palermo, Roma, and Bologna executive Walter Sabatini has been appointed by Salernitana as their new Sporting Director.

The Salerno-based outfit announced the news on their website this afternoon and revealed Sabatini will attend this weekend’s league clash against Lazio.

Sabatini, 66, is being tasked by the club’s new owner, Danilo Iervolino, to help revamp and rebuild a team that currently sits bottom of Serie A on 11 points.

Sabatini joins Salernitana after serving as Technical Director for Bologna and their MLS affiliate, Montreal Impact, since 2019. He also had brief stints at Sampdoria and Inter after spending five years in the Italian capital with Roma under former owner James Pallotta.
