Former Roma attacker Ruggiero Rizzitelli reacted to Roma’s signing of Sardar Azmoun.
Following the club’s announcement of Azmoun’s loan transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, Rizzitelli shared his thoughts in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.
“Azmoun scored very few goals in Leverkusen, he had scored many more at Zenit. He is a player that Roma needed, as you couldn’t be left alone with Belotti to start the season with.”
“Let’s hope it works out, I would have preferred Zapata who already knows Serie A. Instead, Azmoun will have to learn and adapt to a new reality.”
“Mourinho works with the players he has, he doesn’t run the transfer market. He adapts to what the club offers him, especially with FFP limitations. Luckily, Belotti showed up against Salernitana, scoring three goals, one of which was disallowed for a matter of millimeters.”
