After being heavily pursued by Roma in May and June, Valencia attacker Gonçalo Guedes is nearing an exit from the Spanish club and moving to the Premier League.
Valencia technician Gennaro Gattuso confirmed the club received an important transfer offer for the Portuguese international and they’re likely to accept it.
“(Club executive) Corona and I had a conversation this morning to discuss Guedes’ situation,” he began following his team’s friendly win over Atalanta.
“He informed me an English club made a huge offer for him and we’ve got to accept it. There hasn’t been a promise of replacement but I think we’ll move to strengthen the team and bring 2-3 players.”
“Guedes is leaving tomorrow and the problem now is that we’ve got to talk about players and money. I want functional players.”
He added, “When I talk with the club’s executive like Layhoon, Corona, and Sean Bai I discuss completing the squad with players that can offer us something.”
“Though, I’m admittedly annoyed because we had a good performance against a great team and the only thing we’re talking about is Guedes.”
