Legendary Roma captain Francesco Totti applauded his heir in Lorenzo Pellegrini during Italy’s latest training camp.
In the last few days, Totti was invited by Luciano Spalletti to attend the Azzurri’s training camp in Coverciano ahead of the EUROs.
Totti, along with several other players who represented the historic number 10 shirt for Italy over the years, addressed the media after spending an entire day with Spalletti, his staff and the players.
“It’s been a fantastic feeling to be back here – we all feel at home at Coverciano,” said Totti.
“I didn’t expect this invitation but as soon as I received it I didn’t think twice,” he continued.
“Pellegrini? Of course he deserves the number 10,” he added. “He is one of the most important players of the national team and of Roma.”
“This national team is very talented and Spalletti is a great coach, if they follow him we can go very far,” said the Roma legend.
