Roma legend Francesco Totti came under a lot of criticism for some recent comments made on Paulo Dybala.

In a previous interview, Totti had been quoted as saying that Roma may have to reconsider Dybala’s role in the future of the club due to his physical fragility.

During today’s interview with SportMediaset on Instagram, Totti clarified these comments.

“I’m not an executive, I’m a football and Roma fan. I can say what I want, like many fans I said what I thought. I expressed this but not to go against Dybala. I have always defended him, he is Roma’s strongest player technically.”

“For me he is a top player, I have never spoken badly about him. I said if I were an executive I would think about it, that’s all. If they want to exaggerate the matter, fine, but I have nothing against Dybala. I was the first one to invite him to Roma.”

“De Rossi? I know Daniele very well, he’s an exceptional person and what he’s doing with the team is phenomenal.”

“A return to Roma? I said it, with this ownership it will not happen. If they had wanted to look for me they would have found me, if that were to happen so be it. Never say no to Roma, then I have always said that I will die with Roma. It doesn’t depend on me.”
