Roma legend Francesco Totti was in the studio following the Giallorossi’s defeat with Atalanta.

In his post-match reaction with DAZN, Totti praised Mourinho and Pellegrini and defended Rui Patricio whose mistake led to Atalanta’s third goal of the night.

“Roma are two different teams in one: one team performs well in Europe, while the other has ups and downs in the league,” he said.

“Patricio? In football mistakes can happen, the problem is that when the goalkeeper is wrong you have no excuses. Rui Patricio has saved many games and he should only be complimented, he is a goalkeeper of international status.”

“Pellegrini? He’s understood the importance of the captain’s armband. I’m very happy for him. We spoke recently, I tried to cheer him up after the missed penalty with Feyenoord.”

Then, Totti turned to Mourinho who was being interviewed and said, “After what you said, I am now even more confident that with you at the helm we can go far in both the Champions League and the Europa League.”

“I am proud of you, of what you said and of the team, we are all behind you to cheer you on more and more because you deserve it.”
