Francois Modesto and Nicolas Burdisso continued being linked as strong candidates for Roma’s sporting director vacancy.

The capital club are yet to appoint Tiago Pinto’s official successor following the Portuguese executive’s departure in February.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi are in talks with various candidates and continue to narrow down the list on the orders of President Dan Friedkin.

Monza technical director Francois Modesto is a heavy favorite due to his links with Roma CEO Lina Souloukou with whom he met a week ago.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina executive and former Roma player Nicolas Burdisso is also one of the profiles Roma are said to be monitoring – his future with La Viola is uncertain as Fiorentina could choose to make significant changes in their management.
