RomaPress – After a nearly two-month standby period, The Friedkin Group has relaunched their attempts to acquire AS Roma.
A legal executive within the American-based consortium confirmed exclusively to RomaPress that they recently had a fresh bid rejected by James Pallotta.
”(The new offer) was worth €455 million, but we’re going to keep negotiating,” said the Friedkin source.
The two parties originally agreed to a €650 million deal in March, however, the Coronavirus pandemic prevented the final communications being released.
The Friedkin Group is being pushed by Ryan Friedkin, the son of Dan Friedkin, to move forward with negotiations because he’s extremely eager to play a pivotal role at the club.
Friedkin will only acquire the club at a steep discount due to financial losses inquired from the COVID-19 outbreak. For his part, Pallotta would be willing to accept a loss on the club, but he has yet accept a new offer from Friedkin.
