Roma are looking to add another defender to their roster after securing the loan of Dean Huijsen from Juventus.

Following the 18-year-old’s arrival, Roma are hoping to have at least one player – either Spinazzola or Renato Sanches – leave the club in January in order to have more leeway with regards to any incoming transfers.

Whispers from France suggest that the Giallorossi want to further strengthen their backline in the absence of Chris Smalling who continues to deal with the repercussions of a long-term knee injury.

According to L’Equipe, Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto has asked Lille for information concerning Brazilian centre-back Alexsandro Ribeiro.

The 24-year-old defender has only two years left on his deal with Lille and has already been linked with a move away from the club.

Pinto is trying to assess whether it would be feasible to sign Ribeiro on loan (for a minimal fee) with an option to buy at the end of the season.
