From France: Roma tried to bring Lyon’s Depay to the club before acquiring Mkhitaryan

French outlet L’Equipe reports that Roma tried to bring Lyon attacker Memphis Depay to the Italian capital in the final hours of the summer transfer window. Reportedly, the Giallorossi’s sporting director, Gianluca Petrachi, contacted the French club to open talks for the ex-Manchester United man. However, the Dutchman’s entourage intervened and informed Roma that Depay wasn’t interested in a move to the club. Following the “no” of the attacker, Roma closed the operation for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
